Miss Placentia/Yorba Linda Titleholders Shine at 2025 Miss California State Competition
PLACENTIA, CA — June 26, 2025 — The Miss Placentia/Yorba Linda/Canyon Hills Scholarship Organization proudly celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of its titleholders at the 2025 Miss California and Miss California’s Teen Competition, an official preliminary to the Miss America Opportunity.

This year, 25 outstanding Teen delegates and 39 accomplished Miss delegates from across California took the stage to compete for scholarships, service recognition, and a path to the national Miss America stage. Among them were six inspiring representatives from our community, who exemplified excellence, leadership, and heart in every phase of competition.

 
🌟 Standout Results from Our Local Titleholders:

🌟 Michaela Watson (Miss Yorba Linda’s Teen)
Impressed judges with her thoughtful interview and presentation on confidence, community, and respect in STEM fields, encouraging girls to pursue science without sacrificing intellect or femininity.

🌟 Noelani Pese (Miss Placentia’s Teen)
A coveted Top 10 semi-finalist spot and $500 scholarship recipient! As one of few Pacific Islanders, she brought cultural diversity through the Arts with a show-stopping 1950s tap dance, bringing the house down.

🌟 Elaine Kappattil (Miss Canyon Hills’ Teen)
Stunningly, took home the Teen 1st Runner-Up, Miss Congeniality, and the Hostess Award—along with $2,500 in scholarships! Her cultural dance, service focus, and warm personality made a lasting impact with all who met her, and truly with the judges too.

🌟 Johnna Breault (Miss Yorba Linda)
Wowed with a theatrical jazz performance, a standout interview on empowering women through fashion, and confident, impressive on-stage questioning, showcasing the leadership and poise of a true role model.

🌟 Ireland Mercado (Miss Canyon Hills)
Delivered a heartfelt vocal performance of “Home” from Beauty and the Beast, coupled with a standout interview. She achieved her charming personal best, demonstrating tremendous poise and growth.

🌟 Mary Kohaut (Miss Placentia)
Earned the Miss 4th Place spot and a $4,000 scholarship! From 36 delegates to the Top 12, then Top 5, her powerful rendition of Feeling Good and her Community Service Initiative, honoring Military and First Responders, won the judges’ admiration.

🏆 Local Organization of the Year

In addition to our delegates' success, the Miss Placentia/Yorba Linda Scholarship Program was honored as the 2025 Local Organization of the Year by the Miss California Organization. This recognition reflects the passion, dedication, and excellence of our volunteers, directors, and community supporters.

Thanks to generous contributions and unwavering support, our local program awarded over $11,000 in scholarships this year—empowering young women to continue their education, leadership development, and service journeys.
