Tamale Festival/Los Posadas
The Placita Santa Fe Merchants Association will host the 23rd Annual Tamale Festival/Las Posadas and Winter Holiday Celebration between the 100 and 200 blocks of Santa Fe Avenue. The event will include a Christmas procession and live entertainment, such as the grammy-award winning Mariachi Divas.
All of the local restaurants in the downtown area will be participating by having their own food booths and everybody is required to do the tamales. Each restaurant will serve its own take on the savory dish. The tamales are available for purchase.
Beer and wine will also be available for purchase.
Santa Claus will be there to take free pictures with the children and listen to their requests.
As parking will be unavailable within the surrounding area of the event, it is suggested that attendees park for free at Valencia High School or Kraemer Park and take the free shuttle service which will be available to and from the event. The shuttle service will run every 15 minutes from the beginning of the event, with the final shuttle at 9:00 p.m.
Live music, vendors, tamales and fun! What a better way to start off the holiday season and support your community!
