Catalytic Converter Etch & Catch Event

In partnership with Tokyo Automotive, Placentia Super Service, and Yorba Linda Auto Service, the Placentia Police Department and the City of Placentia invite the public to attend a FREE Catalytic Converter Theft Prevention Event. This event is part of a multifaceted strategy that multiple agencies implemented to address the increase in catalytic converter thefts.

All participants will have their catalytic converter etched with a unique identifying number. This etching will act as a theft deterrent and will also provide law enforcement with valuable information should it be stolen and later located by law enforcement personnel during subsequent investigations.

Registration is required. After you register to attend you will receive a confirmation email with detailed instructions.

To attend, participants must:

• Be the registered owner of the vehicle.

• Bring your driver license and a copy of your vehicle's registration.

• Bring your event confirmation with you to the event. *Any vehicle without confirmation will not be allowed entry.*

• Arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

• Fill out and sign the participant waiver form at the mechanic shop on the day of the event.
